Approximate final measurements (garment measurements):
• Chest circumference: 31.5 (35.5, 39.25, 43.25, 47.25, 51.25) in / 80 (90, 100, 110, 120, 130) cm.
Materials:
• 3 (4, 4, 5, 5, 6) skeins of Cléa 1000 (5.3 oz / 151 g) – Círculo – Color 8176 (off-white);
Note: Yarn amounts are approximate and may vary depending on individual tension, and adjustments made to match the templates.
• Círculo crochet hook B-1 (1.25 mm);
• Círculo tapestry needle;
• 2 teardrop-shaped pendants;
• Knit fabric for lining the piece;
• Tracing paper; Pencil; Scissors; Measuring tape.
Abbreviations:
sts.: stitches,
yo: yarn over,
ch: chain,
sc: single crochet,
sl st: slip stitch,
dc: double crochet,
Stitch Patterns:
picot: ch 3, sl st in first ch, yo and insert hook in first ch
pattern stitch (A): follow chart 1,
pattern stitch (B): follow chart 2,
pattern stitch (C): follow chart 3,
pattern stitch (D): follow chart 4,
edging: follow chart 5.
Gauge: a 10 cm (4 in) square in pattern stitch (A): follow chart 1, with a B-1 (1.25 mm) crochet hook = 48 sts × 21 rows.
Instructions
Transfer the templates onto tracing paper to use as a reference when working the piece. Follow the arrows on the measurement chart indicating the working direction.
Use a B-1 (1.25 mm) crochet hook and Cléa yarn.
Step 1:
Upper body and right sleeve (back part):
Begin the piece at the top of the shoulder. Ch 250 (256, 274, 274, 280, 292).
Work pattern stitch (A) following chart 1 and the repeat pattern through row 51.
If necessary, repeat the last row until the piece measures:
7.75 (8.75, 9, 9.5, 10.25, 10.75) in / 20 (22, 23, 24, 26, 27) cm.
Fasten off and set the piece aside.
Upper body and right sleeve (front part):
Join the yarn to the foundation chain of the previous piece. Working over the foundation chain of the previous piece, Work pattern stitch (A) following chart 1 and the repeat pattern through row 51.
If necessary, repeat the last row until the piece measures:
7.75 (8.75, 9, 9.5, 10.25, 10.75) in / 20 (22, 23, 24, 26, 27) cm.
Fold the piece in half to determine the back and front sections. Using a tapestry needle and Cléa yarn in off-white, sew the lower part of the sleeve for:
12.5 (12.5, 12.5, 11.5, 11.5, 11.25) in / 32 (31.5, 32, 29.5, 29, 28.5) cm.
Leave an inner opening of:
7.75 (8.75, 9.75, 10.75, 11.75, 12.75) in / 20 (22.5, 25, 27.5, 30, 32.5) cm on each side (front and back, waist area) to work the next step.
Step 2:
Waist, right side (back and front):
Working across the 15.75 (17.75, 19.75, 21.75, 23.5, 25.5) in / 40 (45, 50, 55, 60, 65) cm of the waist, work in pattern stitch (B), follow chart 2 for 11 rows. Begin at the side edge of the back section and finish at the side edge of the front section. Work in rows (back and forth).
When working row 11, repeat the central arch pattern until the piece reaches a width of:
7.75 (8.75, 9.75, 10.75, 11.75, 12.75) in / 20 (22.5, 25, 27.5, 30, 32.5) cm.
Then continue working the same arches already established, but in reverse order (from the smallest to the largest), until reaching the full width of:
15.75 (17.75, 19.75, 21.75, 23.5, 25.5) in / 40 (45, 50, 55, 60, 65) cm.
Fasten off.
Step 3:
Upper body and left sleeve (back part): Upper body and left sleeve (front part): Same as Step 1.
Step 4:
Waist, left side (back and front): Same as Step 2.
Step 5:
Skirt: Working over the arches of row 11, crochet the skirt in the round in pattern stitch (C), following chart 3 and the repeat pattern until:
10.25 (10.25, 10.75, 11, 11, 11.5) in / 26 (26, 27, 28, 28, 29) cm.
Fasten off.
Step 6:
Sleeve Edging:
Working around each sleeve, crochet in pattern stitch (D), following chart 4 and the repeat pattern until 1.57 in / 4 cm.
Step 7:
Neckline Edging: Work the edging around the neckline, following chart 5 and the repeat pattern for two rounds. Work in the round.
Cord: Ch until the cord measures approximately 40 in / 100 cm. Along this chain, work 1 row of sc. Attach one teardrop-shaped pendant to each end of the cord. Thread the cord through neckline edging, gently gathering to adjust the fit to the body. Tie the cord in a bow at the front.
Lining suggestion: Tank top, separate piece.
