Fortune Shawl

Materials:
Veluna – 1 skein of each of the following colors: 5082 (Fortune), 7655 (Clove), 8323 (Onix Grey), 413 (Dark Cheddar).
Círculo 3.5 mm crochet hook.
Tracing paper – for the pattern template.
Stitches and Abbreviations: The abbreviations used in the pattern are shown in parentheses. Chain (ch), Stitch (st), Yarn over (yo), Times (times), Row (row), Fasten off (FO), Decrease (dec), Increase (inc), Slip Stitch (sl st), Single Crochet (sc), Double Crochet (dc), Treble Crochet (tr).
Single Crochet (sc): Insert hook into st, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through both loops on hook.
Double Crochet (dc): Yo, insert hook into st, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through 2 loops, yo, pull through remaining 2 loops.
Pattern Stitch: Follow chart.
Inset: Follow chart.
Gauge: A 4" (10 cm) square worked in Pattern Stitch following the chart with a 3.5 mm hook = 21 sts x 10 rows.
Instructions: Transfer the pattern template onto tracing paper to use as a reference while working the piece.
Shawl: Begin at the upper edge of the shawl. Using Veluna in Fortune and a 3.5 mm crochet hook, ch 5 and join with a sl st to form a ring. Work as follows: 6 sts in Pattern Stitch following the chart, 7 sts in Inset following the chart, and 5 sts in mirrored Pattern Stitch following the chart. This is Row 1 of the chart.
Continue working the following rows according to the chart, increasing the width of the shawl at both sides while maintaining the 7 center sts of the Inset. Once the chart is complete, repeat from to to continue working.
The asterisks indicate the repeat of the rows. Work 2 rows in each color throughout the shawl.
When the shawl measures 35½" (90 cm) from the beginning, measured at the center, fasten off.
Using Veluna in Onix Grey and a 3.5 mm crochet hook, work 1 round of sc evenly around the entire shawl. Fasten off.
Using Veluna in Fortune and a 3.5 mm crochet hook, work 1 round of dc evenly around the entire shawl. Fasten off.
