Execution
Transfer the templates to tracing paper to use as a reference when making the piece. Follow the arrows in the measurement chart to identify the working direction.
Back: Use Veluna yarn #6313 (Blackberry) and a 1.75 mm hook. Work a foundation chain of 84 (96, 104, 112, 120, 128) ch. On this chain, work in 2x2 ribbing stitch, following diag. 1 and the stitch repeat for 3.6 in / 9 cm.
In the next row, continue in Fantasy Stitch A: 10.5 (12, 13, 14, 15, 16) motifs, following diag. 2 and the st. repeat.
When the piece measures 15.8 (16.2, 16.6, 17, 17.4, 17.8) in / 40 (41, 42, 43, 44, 45) cm in length, begin the raglan armholes, decreasing 1 st. at each side in every row 20 (25, 28, 31, 34, 37) times.
When the piece measures 21.2 (23.2, 24.4, 25.6, 26.8, 28) in / 54 (59, 62, 65, 68, 71) cm from the beginning, shape the neckline with 5.5 (6, 6, 6, 6.5, 7) motifs, fasten off, and set aside.
Right Front: Use Veluna yarn #6313 (Blackberry) and a 1.75 mm hook. Work a foundation chain of 42 (48, 52, 56, 60, 64) ch. On this chain, work in 2x2 ribbing stitch, following diag. 1 and the stitch repeat for 3.6 in / 9 cm.
In the next row, continue in Fantasy Stitch A: 5.5 (6, 6.5, 7, 7.5, 8) motifs, following diag. 2 and the st. repeat.
When the piece measures 15.8 (16.2, 16.6, 17, 17.4, 17.8) in / 40 (41, 42, 43, 44, 45) cm in length, begin the raglan armhole on the left side, decreasing 1 st. at each row 20 (25, 28, 31, 34, 37) times.
At 20 (22, 23.2, 24.4, 25.6, 26.8) in / 51 (56, 59, 62, 65, 68) cm in length, start shaping the neckline on the right side, decreasing:
S: 3 sts in every row 4 times
M: 4 sts once, and 3 sts 3 times
L: 4 sts twice, and 3 sts twice
XL: 4 sts 3 times, and 3 sts once
2XL: 4 sts 4 times
3XL: 5 sts once, and 4 sts 3 times.
When the piece measures 21.2 (23.2, 24.4, 25.6, 26.8, 28) in / 54 (59, 62, 65, 68, 71) cm from the beginning, finish the neckline with 1 motif, fasten off and set aside.
Right Pocket: Use Veluna yarn #6313 (Blackberry) and a 1.75 mm hook. Work a foundation chain of 28 ch. On this chain, work in Fantasy Stitch (B – 4 motifs), following diag. 3 and the stitch repeat.
When the piece measures 4 in / 10 cm in length, begin shaping the pocket opening on the left side, decreasing 1 st. at each row (14 times). When the piece reaches 8.6 in / 22 cm in length, finish the pocket with 2 motifs, fasten off and set aside.
Left Front: Work the same as the right front, reversing the decreases for the raglan armhole and neckline.
Left Pocket: Work the same as the right pocket, reversing the side of the pocket opening.
Sleeve: Use Veluna yarn #6313 (Blackberry) and a 1.75 mm hook. Work a foundation chain of 40 (44, 48, 52, 54, 56) ch. On this chain, work in 2x2 ribbing stitch, following diag. 1 and the stitch repeat for 3.6 in / 9 cm. In the next row, continue in Fantasy Stitch B, following diag. 3 and the stitch repeat.
When the sleeve measures 12.2 (12.2, 13, 13, 13.4, 13.4) in / 31 (31, 33, 33, 34, 34) cm from the beginning, increase each side:
S: every 3 rows 1st (6 times)
M: every 3 rows 1st (6 times)
L: every 3 rows 1st (7 times)
XL: every 1 rows 1st (9 times)
2XL: every 1 row 1st (13 times)
3XL: every 1 row 1st (15 times)
At 18.6 (18.6, 19.2, 19.2, 20, 20) in / 47 (47, 49, 49, 51, 51) cm in length, start the raglan shaping, decreasing 1 st. at each side in every row 18 (20, 23, 27, 32, 35) times.
When the piece measures 24 (25.6, 27.2, 28, 29.6, 30.4) in / 61 (65, 69, 71, 75, 77) cm from the beginning, finish the sleeve with 2 motifs, fasten off. Work the second sleeve the same way and set aside.
Assembly and Finishing: Use a tapestry needle and Veluna yarn #6313 (Blackberry).
Sew the sides: 15.8 (16.2, 16.6, 17, 17.4, 17.8) in / 40 (41, 42, 43, 44, 45) cm.
Sew the sleeves to the front and back pieces along the raglan armholes: 5.6 (7, 7.8, 8.6, 9.4, 10.2) in / 14 (18, 20, 22, 24, 26) cm.
Sew the pockets onto the right and left front panels.
Hood: Join Veluna yarn #6313 (Blackberry) at the beginning of the right front neckline. Using a 1.75 mm hook, work across the right front neckline, continuing through the back neckline and finishing along the left front neckline in 2x2 ribbing stitch: 88 (92, 96, 100, 104, 108) sts. Following the 2nd row of diag. 1 and the st. repeat.
In the next row, continue working in Fantasy Stitch A: 11 (11.5, 12, 12.5, 13, 13.5) motifs, following diag. 2 and the st. repeat. When the hood measures 14.6 (15, 15.4, 15.8, 16.2, 16.6) in / 37 (38, 39, 40, 41, 42) cm in length, fasten off, leaving a 17.8 (17.8, 19.6, 19.6, 19.6, 21.6) in / 45 (45, 50, 50, 50, 55) cm yarn tail. Thread the tail through a tapestry needle and seam the top of the hood: 8.6 (9, 9.4, 9.8, 10.2, 10.6) in / 22 (23, 24, 25, 26, 27) cm.
Edging: Using Veluna yarn #6313 (Blackberry) and a 1.75 mm hook, work one row of crab st. around the front panels, hem, hood edge, and cuffs.
Zipper Application: Using Maxxi Retrós thread and a No. 2 sewing needle, attach the 20 (22, 23.2, 24.4, 25.6, 26.8) in / 51 (56, 59, 62, 65, 68) cm zipper along the front panel edges.
Hood Drawstring: Thread a 79 in / 2 m cord through the hood edge.
