Round 2: Ch 3, dc in same st. Work 2 dc in each st around. Join with sl st to top of ch-3. (24 dc)
Round 3: Ch 3. 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next st. Repeat around. Join with sl st.
Round 4: Ch 3. 1 dc in each of next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st. Repeat around. Join with sl st.
Round 5: Ch 3. 1 dc in each of next 3 sts, 2 dc in next st. Repeat around. Join with sl st.
Round 6: Ch 3. 1 dc in each of next 4 sts, 2 dc in next st. Repeat around. Join with sl st.
At this point the circle should measure about 11 cm across (adjust according to your tension).
Openwork Section (mesh)
Round 7: Ch 5, skip 2 sts, sc in next st; ch 5, skip 2 sts, sc in next st. Repeat around. At end: ch 2, dc into base of initial ch-3.
Note: all mesh rounds are ended this way.
Round 8 and onwards: Ch 5, sc in next loop, ch 5, sc in next loop. Repeat across.
Continue until you have 13 rounds of mesh (or adjust for desired length).
Edging Round
In first loop: sc, ch 1.
In next loop: (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1), then sc in next loop.
Repeat this pattern around: (sc, ch 1, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1) in next loop, sc in next loop).
Finish round, join with sl st in first sc, fasten off.
Finishing the Beanie
● After weaving in ends, apply a drop of liquid silicone glue to each end to prevent slipping (important with Encanto yarn).
● For decorative detail, make pearl straps:
Thread 18 pearls on each strap using a sewing needle.
Sew from edge to edge across the beanie opening, forming pearl straps.
