Circulo Veluna Yarn in colors 20, 8990, 7311, and 7655 - two hanks of EACH color for sizes small and medium, three hanks of each color for large and extra large, four hanks of each color for 2XL and 3XL
E/3.5 mm Crochet Hook

Blocking mat and pins
Special Stitches: Filled-Y st: make 1 tr, then place 3 dc through (not around) the post of the tr you just made, catching the two strands at the front of the tr. You are essentially making your dc into the side of the tr.
Spike st: dc into the base of the next double crochet from the previous row.

Squares
For sizes Small and Medium: Make 21 (4 for each sleeve, 3 for each front panel, 7 for the back panel)
For sizes Large and Extra Large: Make 27 (5 for each sleeve, 4 for each front panel, 9 for the back panel)
For sizes 2XL and 3XL: Make 31 (5 for each sleeve, 5 for each front panel, 11 for the back panel)
1 square - after blocking - measures 3 ¼” x 3 ¼”
Begin: With Color C / dark brown: ch 4, join with a sl st to the first ch to form a ring.
Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 15 dc into the ring, join with a sl st to the top of the ch 3. (16 sts)
Finish off Color C / dark brown

Join Color A / black in any st
Round 2: Ch 1, 1 sc in the same st, 2 sc in the next st, 1 sc in the next st, repeat from * 6 more times, ending with 2 sc in the last st. Join with a sl st to the first sc. (24 sts)
Finish off Color A / black

Join Color B / cream in the back loop of any st
Round 3: Ch 1, working in the BLO for the entire round, sl st in the same st, sl st in the next st, ch 2, (1 dc, 1 tr, ch 1) in the same st as sl st, (1 tr, 1 dc, ch 2, sl st) all in the next st, 1 sl st in the next st repeat from * 7 more times, join with a sl st in the first sl st.
Finish off Color / B cream

Join Color D / light brown in the BLO of any ch 1 of a flower tip
Round 4: Ch 1, 1 sc in the same st, make a filled-Y st in the BLO of the sc of Round 2 that contains the sl st between the two petals; ch 1, 1 sc in the BLO of the ch 1 sp at the tip of the next petal, repeat from * 6 more times. Make a filled-Y st in the BLO between the next two petals, ch 1, join with a sl st in the 1st sc. Do not finish off yarn.

Round 5: Ch 1, 1 sc in the same st, 1 sc in the next st, 1 hdc in each of the next 2 sts, 1 dc in the next st, 1 dc in the ch 1 sp, (1 dc, 1 tr, ch 2, 1 tr, 1 dc) in the next st - corner made, 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts, 1 hdc in each of the next 2 sts, 1 sc in the ch-1 sp, 1 sc in each the next 2 sts, 1 hdc in each of the next 2 sts, 1 dc in the next st, 1 dc in the ch-1 sp, repeat from * two more times. BLOCK YOUR SQUARES before joining.
Sleeves
*For sizes small and medium use 4 squares, for sizes large and extra large use 5 squares, for sizes 2XL and 3XL use 5 squares
Join 4 (5, 5) squares together for each sleeve, this will be the bottom of your sleeve. Now we will work up the sleeve.
Join Color A / black at the corner of the joined square piece - you are going to join in the 2nd sc that you placed in the corner of the square.
Row 1: Ch 3 (count as dc), 1 dc in the next st and in the next 15 sts, place 3 dc in between the next two squares, 1 dc in the next 17 sts, 3 dc in between the next two squares, 1 dc in the next 17 sts, 3 dc in between the next two squares, 1 dc in the next 17 sts, end with 1 dc in the first sc in the corner sp of the square.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn. 1 sc in each st across (the turning ch counts as the last sc).
Finish off Color A / black, join Color B / cream in the same st. Turn.
Row 3: Ch 3 (count as dc), 1 dc into the same st, ch 2, sk 2 sc, 1 dc into each of the next 2 sc; rep from to the last 3 sts, sk 2, 2 dc in the last st. Turn.
Row 4: Ch 1, work 1 sc into each of the 1st 2 dc, ch 2, 1 sc into each of the next 2 dc; rep from to the end, working last sc into the 3rd ch of the ch 3 at the beginning of the previous row.
Finish off Color B / cream, join Color C / dark brown in the same st. Turn.
Row 5: Ch 1, 1 sc into each of the first 2 sc, 1 tr into each of the 2 skipped sc from 3 rows below, 1 sc into each of the next 2 sc, rep from to the end, turn.
**NOTE: You will not be joining row 3 and 4 into your tr, you will work in front of it just right into the sc from 3 rows below. Turn.
Row 6: Ch 1, 1 sc into each sc and each tr to the end.
Finish off Color C / dark brown, join Color A / black in same st. Turn.
Row 7: Ch 3, sk 1st sc, 1 dc in each sc to the end. Turn.
Row 8: Ch 1, 1 sc into each dc to the end, working last sc into 3rd ch of the ch 3 at beginning of previous row.
Finish off Color A / black, join Color B / cream in same st. Turn.
Row 9: Ch 3 (count as dc), sk 1st sc, 1 dc in the next sc, ch 2, sk 2 sc, 1 dc into each of the next 2 sc; rep from to the end, turn.
Row 10: Ch 1, work 1 sc into each of the 1st 2 dc, ch 2, 1 sc into each of the next 2 dc; rep from to the end, working last sc into the 3rd ch of the ch 3 at the beginning of previous row.
Finish off Color B / cream, join Color D / light brown in the same st. Turn.
Row 11: Ch 1, 1 sc into each of the first 2 sc, 1 tr into each of the 2 skipped sc from 3 rows below, 1 sc into each of the next 2 sc, rep from to the end, turn.
**NOTE: You will not be joining row 3 and 4 into your tr, you will work in front of it just right into the sc from 3 rows below. Turn.
Row 12: Ch 1, 1 sc into each sc and each tr to the end.
Finish off Color D / light brown, join Color A / black in the same st. Turn.
Row 13: Ch 3, sk 1st sc, 1 dc in each sc to the end. Turn.
Row 14: Ch 1, 1 sc into each dc to the end, working last sc into 3rd ch of the ch 3 at beginning of previous row.
Finish off Color A / black, join Color D / light brown in the same st. Turn.

After attaching 3 (4, 5) squares together, join Color A / black in the corner and ch 2.
Row 1: 1 dc in each sc across the top of the squares, placing 3 dc in between the squares. Turn.
Row 2-3: Ch 3 (count as dc), sk the first st (same as turning ch) 1 dc in the next st and in each st across. Turn.
Finish off Color A / black, join Color B / cream
Row 4: Ch 3, sk the same st, sk the next st, 1 dc in the next st, 1 dc back in the skipped st (crossing over the front of the dc you just made), repeat from * across, ending with 1 dc in the top of the turning ch. Turn.

Back Panel
After attaching 6 squares together, join Color A / black in the corner and ch 2.
Repeat as for Front Panels
BLOCK ALL PANELS before assembly
Once all of your pieces are blocked, join your front panels to the back panel along the top using the whip stitch method or method of choice, then join along each side of the panels leaving an opening for the sleeves. Attach your sleeves.
With Color A / black, join in any stitch along the panels and do one even row of hdc around the entire piece to give it a more complete look.
