Materials & Tools

Yarn: Anne Yarn (147g/5.2oz skeins) or similar DK weight yarn

•    Color A (White 8001): 2 (2, 3, 3, 4, 4) skeins

•    Color B (Black 8990): 2 (3, 3, 4, 4, 5) skeins

Hook: 1.75mm (US size 6 steel) crochet hook

•    Tracing paper

•    Pencil

•    Scissors

•    Tape measure

•    Stitch markers


Gauge

26 sts and 13 rows = 4" (10 cm) in double crochet with 1.75 mm hook

Take time to check gauge. Adjust hook size if necessary.


Abbreviations

•    ch: chain

•    dc: double crochet

•    dc-flo: double crochet in front loop only

•    dc-blo: double crochet in back loop only

•    sc: single crochet

•    sl st: slip stitch

•    sl st-flo: slip stitch in front loop only

•    st(s): stitch(es)

•    inc: increase

•    popcorn: work 5 dc in same st, remove hook from loop, insert hook in first dc of group, pick up dropped loop and pull through


Stitch Patterns

•      Bust Pattern (Chart 1): Follow Chart 1 for bust construction

•      Pattern Stitch A (Chart 2): Follow Chart 2 for bodice section

•      Pattern Stitch B (Chart 3): Follow Chart 3 for skirt section

•      Pattern Stitch C (Chart 4): Follow Chart 4 for back opening edges

•      Pattern Stitch D (Chart 5): Follow Chart 5 for finishing and straps


Pattern Notes

•    Charts are drawn for size XS. For all other sizes, follow the stitch counts and row numbers specified in the written instructions while maintaining the color changes and stitch patterns shown in the charts.

•    Work begins at bottom of bust and works upward to neckline, then continues from bust bottom to hem

•    Use Color B (Black) for sections shown in black on charts

•    Use Color A (White) for sections shown in blue on charts

•    Transfer pattern templates to tracing paper for reference

•    Follow directional arrows on measurement schematic


Instructions

Step 1 - Bust Section (Chart 1)

Using 1.75mm hook and Color B (Black), begin at bottom of bust. Work in turned rows.

Foundation: Ch 3.

Row 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc.

Rows 2-30 (36, 40, 44, 49, 53): Continue following Chart 1.

At end of Chart 1, work side chains: Work ch 20 (20, 22, 23, 24, 25) at each side edge.

Note: These chains will be positioned at center back.


Step 2 - Bodice Section (Chart 2)

Continue working from bottom of bust section and across side chains in Pattern Stitch A following Chart 2, rows 1-13. Begin at left back, work across front, end at right back. Work in turned rows.

Change colors from Color B (Black) to Color A (White) as indicated on chart.

Increase Distribution over 13 rows:

Starting sts: 130 (148, 164, 178, 195, 209)

Increases per row:

•    XS: 4 inc (13 times)

•    S: 5 inc (13 times)

•    M: 6 inc (10 times), 5 inc (3 times)

•    L: 7 inc (11 times), 5 inc (2 times)

•    XL: 8 inc (12 times)

•    2XL: 9 inc (12 times)

Total sts after increases: 182 (213, 239, 265, 291, 317)


Step 3 - Skirt Section (Chart 3)

Continue with skirt working in rounds in Pattern Stitch B following Chart 3, rows 1-69 (70, 72, 73, 74, 75).

Increase Distribution:

Starting sts: 182 (213, 239, 265, 291, 317)

Increases distributed throughout rows:

•    XS: 2 inc (60 times)

•    S: 2 inc (40 times), 1 inc (29 times)

•    M: 2 inc (40 times), 1 inc (29 times)

•    L: 2 inc (40 times), 1 inc (29 times)

•    XL: 2 inc (40 times), 1 inc (29 times)

•    2XL: 2 inc (40 times), 1 inc (29 times)

Total sts after increases: 302 (322, 348, 374, 400, 426)

Final Round: Change to Pattern Stitch D following Chart 5 around entire hem.


Finishing

Back Opening and Straps

Using 1.75mm hook and Color B (Black):

Back Opening Edges: Work Pattern Stitch C following Chart 4 along each back opening edge.

Bust Top Edge: Work 1 row of sc across top of bust section.

Straps: At each side of bust, work ch 181 (181, 220, 228, 240, 250).

Strap Finishing: Work Pattern Stitch D following Chart 5 over each chain and along sides of bust section.

Assembly: Cross straps at center back and thread through back opening arches, allowing them to overlap.


Final Assembly

Weave in all ends securely.

Block piece to measurements if desired.

Try on and adjust strap length if necessary by repositioning cross-over at back.
