Notes

This garment is made in pieces, then whip stitched together. You will make two front panels, and one back panel. After joining the pieces, you will add the ruffle edging. This garment can be made longer by adding more rows to the back panel and front panels.

Model is wearing size small.

I recommend blocking your panels before assembly.

Assemble: place your front panels on top of your back panels and whip stitch in place along the top and sides, leaving an armhole opening. For each armhole opening, do 1 row of sc around before adding your ruffle edging.

Ruffle Edging

With red, attach yarn in the corner of your armhole (where the seam is) and ch 2.

Repeat on the other armhole. Finish off, weave in ends.

Attach red yarn in the bottom corner of your garment on the right panel (when facing you). Ch 2.

Row 1: 3 dc in same st, 3 dc in next, *3 tr in next, [3 dc in next] twice,* repeat across. Finish off, weave in ends. Remember, this is just a row of ruffle along the edge of your garment.

With natural color, place a row of sc around each ruffle border along the armholes and the bottom ruffle and on the inside of the panels and neckline.

Bow Instructions

With natural, ch 26

Row 1: 1 hdc in the 3rd ch from the hook and in each ch across. Ch 2, turn.

Row 2 - 3: 1 hdc in the BLO in each st across. Ch 2, turn.

Finish off, leaving a long tail.

Fold your piece in half and - using the long tail - sew up the edges (this will be the seam at the back of your bow.

Ribbon

Ch 22,

Row 1: 1 hdc in the 3rd ch from the hook and in each ch across. Ch 2, turn.

Row 2-3: 2 hdc in the first st, hdc in each st across, 2 hdc in the last st. ch 2, turn.

Finish off, weave in ends.

Pinch the center of the ribbon so it folds slightly, then using a yarn needle, secure it to the back of your bow piece at the seam (it will be behind the bow).

Then with a long strand of yarn just wrap it a few times tightly around the center of the bow. Secure it in the back and weave in your ends.

Sew the bow in place on the edge of one panel, then attach a pin back or clasp to the back of the bow so you can secure it to the other panel.
