Gauge: 1 granny square (6 rounds in DC) = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches), using Anne yarn and a 2.5 mm hook.


Abbreviations:

DC: double crochet

ch: chain

st: stitch

sts: stitches

SC: single crochet

slst: slip stitch

MR: magic ring

rnd: round


Techniques:

- Ch 3 at the beginning of each round counts as 1 DC.

- Corners: 2 ch between 3 DC clusters.

- Squares are worked in the round, turning after each rnd.

- Half squares are worked flat.

- Join squares with slst through front loop only.

- Turn half-squares on the sides before sewing.

Granny Squares

Make 28 full squares using the following instructions:Make a MR using Anne in the color 8176 (Off White).Rnd 1: In MR, ch 3, 2 DC, ch 2, (3 DC, ch 2) x 3. Slst to join. Turn and close MR. Cut yarn.Rnd 2: Join 2194 (Turquoise) in any corner. Ch 3, 2 DC, ch 2, 3 DC, ch 1. In next corner, (3 DC, ch 2, 3 DC, ch 1) x 3. Slst to join. Cut yarn. Turn.Rnd 3: Join 4445 (Tangerine) in any corner. Ch 3, 2 DC, ch 2, 3 DC, ch 1. (3 DC in ch-1 space) to next corner. Repeat corner sequence. Repeat round 3 with new color for 3 more rounds. Total of 6 rounds, changing color each round.

Half Squares

Make 12 half squares as follows:Make a MR using Anne in the color 8176 (Off White).Row 1: Ch 4 (counts as DC + ch 1), 3 DC, ch 2, 3 DC, ch 1, 1 DC. Turn.Row 2: Ch 4, (3 DC, ch 1 in each ch-1 sp) to middle. 3 DC, ch 2, 3 DC in center. Continue to end with (3 DC, ch 1) and end with 1 DC in 3rd ch of previous row.Repeat Row 2 for total of 6 rows. Change color each row.

Assembly

Refer to assembling chart. Lay out squares and folded half-squares. Join with slsts in front loop only. Fold half-squares at edges before seaming.

Finishing

• Bottom edge and sleeves: 1 round of SC in each st and ch.

• Neckline: Work 6 rounds of SC in each st and ch.
