MATERIALS

Bossa Nova (100 g), 7 (8, 9, 10, 12, 13) skeins, Color 3794 (Bordeaux);

6.0 mm (US 10) bamboo circular knitting needle with stainless-steel cable, 32" (80 cm) long;

Cable needle or Círculo colored stitch marker;

4 Círculo stitch holders;

Círculo tapestry needle;

Tracing paper;

Pencil;

Scissors;

Tape measure

GAUGE

20 sts × 22 rows = 4" (10 cm) in 3/3 Rib (Chart 5), using a 6.0 mm (US 10) circular needle.


INSTRUCTIONS

Transfer the pattern pieces to tracing paper and use them as a reference while working the garment. Follow the arrows on the schematic to determine the direction of work.

The ribbing and neckline are worked in the round. The body and sleeves are worked flat.


BODY

Using Bossa Nova in Bordeaux, CO 162 (180, 204, 216, 240, 258) sts onto the 6.0 mm (US 10) circular needle.

Begin at the lower edge and work the back and front together in the round. Place a marker to indicate the beginning of each rnd.

Work in 3/3 Rib according to Chart 1, repeating the indicated pattern for 4" (10 cm).

Continue working the body flat.

Place the 81 (90, 102, 108, 120, 129) sts for the front on a stitch holder or spare needle to be worked later.


Back

With the 81 (90, 102, 108, 120, 129) sts for the back remaining on the 6.0 mm (US 10) circular needle, inc 1 (0, 6, 10, 6, 7) st(s) across the row, for a total of 82 (90, 108, 118, 126, 136) sts.

Work as follows:

10 sts following Chart 2, 8 sts following Chart 3; rep from 3 (4, 5, 5, 6, 6) more times, 10 (0, 0, 10, 0, 10) sts following Chart 2.

At 15.25 (15.25, 15.25, 15.75, 15.75, 15.75) in / 39 (39, 39, 40, 40, 40) cm from the beginning, begin the raglan armhole shaping as follows:

Work 3 sts for the edge following Chart 4, 76 (84, 102, 112, 120, 130) sts following Charts 2 and 3 as established in the fancy stitch pattern, then 3 sts for the edge following Chart 4.

Begin raglan decreases at both sides, every other row, immediately before and after the edge stitches.

S: Dec 1 st at each side every other row 23 times.

M: Dec 1 st at each side every other row 22 times, then dec 2 sts at each side every other row 2 times.

L: Dec 1 st at each side every other row 16 times, then dec 2 sts at each side every other row 9 times.

XL: Dec 1 st at each side every other row 14 times, then dec 2 sts at each side every other row 12 times.

2XL: Dec 1 st at each side every other row 13 times, then dec 2 sts at each side every other row 14 times.

3XL: Dec 1 st at each side every other row 12 times, then dec 2 sts at each side every other row 16 times.

At 23.25 (24, 24.5, 25.25, 25.5, 26) in / 60 (61, 62, 64, 65, 66) cm from the beginning, place the remaining 36 (38, 40, 42, 44, 48) sts on a stitch holder to be joined later for the neckline.


Front

Return the 81 (90, 102, 108, 120, 129) sts placed on hold to the 6.0 mm (US 10) circular needle. Inc 1 (0, 6, 10, 6, 7) st(s) across the row, for a total of 82 (90, 108, 118, 126, 136) sts.

Work the same as for the Back. Place the piece on hold.


SLEEVES

Using Bossa Nova in Bordeaux, CO 48 (52, 56, 60, 64, 68) sts onto the 6.0 mm (US 10) circular needle.

Beginning at the cuff, work in 3/3 Rib according to Chart 5 for 3.25" (8 cm).

At the last row of the 3/3 Rib, inc 16 (12, 16, 20, 26, 28) sts evenly spaced across the row, for a total of 64 (64, 72, 80, 90, 96) sts.

Work as follows:

10 sts following Chart 2, 8 sts following Chart 3; rep from 2 (2, 3, 3, 4, 4) more times, 10 (10, 0, 8, 0, 6) sts following Chart 2.

At 19.25 (19.25, 19.75, 19.75, 20, 20) in / 49 (49, 50, 50, 51, 51) cm from the beginning, begin the raglan armhole shaping as follows:

Work 3 sts for the edge following Chart 4, 58 (58, 66, 74, 84, 90) sts following Charts 2 and 3 as established in the fancy stitch pattern, then 3 sts for the edge following Chart 4.

Begin raglan decreases at both sides, every other row, immediately before and after the edge stitches:

S: Dec 1 st at each side every other row 23 times.

M: Dec 1 st at each side every other row 24 times.

L: Dec 1 st at each side every other row 25 times.

XL: Dec 1 st at each side every other row 26 times.

2XL: Dec 1 st at each side every other row 27 times.

3XL: Dec 1 st at each side every other row 28 times.

You will have 18 (16, 22, 28, 36, 40) sts remaining.


At 27.5 (28, 28.75, 29.25, 30, 30.25) in / 70 (71, 73, 74, 76, 77) cm from the beginning, on the final row, dec 6 (6, 8, 10, 8, 7) sts evenly spaced across the row, leaving 12 (10, 14, 18, 28, 33) sts.

Place the remaining sts on a stitch holder to be joined later for the neckline.

Work the second sleeve in the same manner and place it on hold.


NECKLINE

Using the 6.0 mm (US 10) circular needle, return the held sts to the needle in the following order:

36 (38, 40, 42, 44, 48) sts from Back, 12 (10, 14, 18, 28, 33) sts from Left Sleeve, 36 (38, 40, 42, 44, 48) sts from Front, 12 (10, 14, 18, 28, 33) sts from Right Sleeve, for a total of 96 (96, 108, 120, 144, 162) sts.

Place a marker to indicate the beginning of the rnd.

Work in 3/3 Rib according to Chart 1 for 2" (5 cm).

Bind off all sts.


ASSEMBLY AND FINISHING

Using the tapestry needle and Bossa Nova in Bordeaux, sew the pieces together using running stitch.

Join the sleeves to the body along the armholes for 8.25 (8.75, 9, 9.5, 9.75, 10.25) in / 21 (22, 23, 24, 25, 26) cm.

Sew the body side seams for 15.25 (15.25, 15.25, 15.75, 15.75, 15.75) in / 39 (39, 39, 40, 40, 40) cm.

Sew the sleeve and cuff seams for 19.25 (19.25, 19.75, 19.75, 20, 20) in / 49 (49, 50, 50, 51, 51) cm.
