Sizes: S (M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL)
Materials:
• 3 (3, 4, 5, 5, 6) skeins of Seaside Yarn - Color: 611 (Off-White)
• US B/1 (2.5 mm) crochet hook
• Tapestry needle
• Tracing paper and pencil (optional, for pattern reference)
• Scissors
• Tape measure
• 4 buttons, 1 cm / ⅜ in diameter
Gauge: 21 sts and 18 rows = 4 x 4 in (10 x 10 cm) in sc.
Abbreviations:
• ch: chain
• sl st: slip stitch
• sc: single crochet
• dc: double crochet
• beg: beginning
• cont: continue
Stitch Patterns:
• Pattern Stitch: Work in pattern stitch following Diagram 1.
• Buttonhole: Work buttonhole following Diagram 2.
• Edging: Work edging following Diagram 3.
Notes:
• Piece is worked from the bottom up.
• Trace the pattern pieces onto paper to use as a reference..
• Arrows on the schematic indicate the direction of work.
Instructions
Front Panel
Foundation: With 2.5 mm hook and Off-White yarn, ch 84 (95, 105, 116, 126, 137).
Work in pattern stitch (see Diagram 1) across the chain.
Cont working in established pattern stitch until piece measures 7.09 (7.09, 7.87, 8.27, 8.66, 9.06) in / 18 (18, 20, 21, 22, 23) cm from beg.
Shape Armholes:
At 7.09 (7.09, 7.87, 8.27, 8.66, 9.06) in / 18 (18, 20, 21, 22, 23) cm from beg, leave unworked 13 (16, 20, 24, 27, 30) sts on each side.
Shape Neckline:
At 8.27 (8.66, 9.45, 10.24, 10.63, 11.42) in / 21 (22, 24, 26, 27, 29) cm from beg, bind off the 36 (41, 43, 46, 50, 55) center sts. Work each strap over 11 sts for 12.6 (14.17, 14.17, 14.96, 14.96, 14.96) in / 32 (36, 36, 38, 38, 38) cm. Fasten off.
Back Panel - Left Side
Foundation: With 2.5 mm hook and Off-White yarn, ch 45 (50, 56, 61, 66, 71).
Work in pattern stitch (see Diagram 1) across the chain.
Cont working in established pattern stitch, and on the right side edge, work buttonholes (see Diagram 2) spaced 2.76 (2.76, 3.15, 3.35, 3.54, 3.74) in / 7 (7, 8, 8.5, 9, 9.5) cm.
Work even until piece measures 7.09 (7.09, 7.87, 8.27, 8.66, 9.06) in / 18 (18, 20, 21, 22, 23) cm from beg.
Shape Armhole:
At left armhole edge, bind off 13 (16, 20, 24, 27, 30) sts.
Cont working until piece measures 8.27 (8.66, 9.45, 10.24, 10.63, 11.42) in / 21 (22, 24, 26, 27, 29) cm from beg. Fasten off.
Back Panel - Right Side
Foundation: With 2.5 mm hook and Off-White yarn, ch 45 (50, 56, 61, 66, 71).
Work in pattern stitch (see Diagram 1) across the chain.
Cont working in established pattern stitch until piece measures 7.09 (7.09, 7.87, 8.27, 8.66, 9.06) in / 18 (18, 20, 21, 22, 23) cm from beg.
Shape Armhole:
At right armhole edge, bind off 13 (16, 20, 24, 27, 30) sts.
Cont working until piece measures 8.27 (8.66, 9.45, 10.24, 10.63, 11.42) in / 21 (22, 24, 26, 27, 29) cm from beg. Fasten off.
Finishing
• Sew shoulder seams:
Using the tapestry needle and yarn, sew the front straps to the back panels.
• Sew side seams:
Sew the sides for 7.09 (7.09, 7.87, 8.27, 8.66, 9.06) in / 18 (18, 20, 21, 22, 23) cm.
• Edging:
With RS facing and 2.5 mm hook, join yarn to work the edging (see Diagram 3) around the entire outer edge of the top (neckline, armholes, and bottom edge).
• Buttons:
Sew the 4 buttons onto the right back panel, positioning them to correspond with the buttonholes on the left back panel.
