Materials:
· Premium T-shirt yarn (270 g) - 2 skeins in color #4222 (Orange Peel)
· Círculo 7.0 mm Crochet Hook
· Scissors
· Measuring tape
· Tapestry needle
Abbreviations:
BLO: Crochet through the Back Loops Only
ch: Chain Stitch
dc: Double Crochet
hdc: Half Double Crochet
hdc inc: 2 Half Double Crochets in the same stitch
rnd: round
sc: Single Crochet
sl st: Slip Stitch
st: stitch
sts: stitches
wc st: Waistcoat Stitch
wc st inc: 2 Waistcoat Stitches in the same stitch
Invisible Finish: Remove the loop from the hook, insert it into the 1st st of the rnd, pull the loop through and remove from the hook, set it aside for the next step, insert the hook into the middle of the st that formed, yarn over, and pull through to the front, insert the hook into the loop that was set aside, yarn over, and pull through both loops at once.
Instructions:
Basket Base
Using Círculo Premium T-shirt yarn #4222 (Orange Peel), ch 26 to start + 1 ch to turn the work.
Row 1: From the 2nd ch from the hook, work 2 sc, 3 hdc, 16 dc, 3 hdc, 2 sc.
Rows 2 to 36 (35 rows): ch 1 to start and work in BLO: 2 sc, 3 hdc, 16 dc, 3 hdc, 2 sc. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing. Sew the two ends of the piece together, joining the 1st and last rows of Diagram 1 with a hand stitch. Close the bottom by inserting the needle every 2 rows, pull the yarn until completely closed, then fasten off.
Embroidery
Using Círculo Premium T-shirt yarn #8990 (Black), embroider the Eyes, Nose, and Mouth following the Assembly Diagram.
Basket Lid
Using Círculo Premium T-shirt yarn #4222 (Orange Peel), start with a magic ring.
Rnd 1: 8 sc, close with an invisible finish.
Rnd 2: 8 wc st inc, close with an invisible finish (16)
Rnd 3: (1 wc st, 1 wc st inc) 8x, close with an invisible finish (24)
Rnd 4: (2 wc st, 1 wc st inc) 8x, close with an invisible finish (32)
Rnd 5: 32 sl st, close with an invisible finish, and fasten off.
Leaf
Using Círculo Premium T-shirt yarn #5092 (Sage), ch 5 to start + 3 ch to turn the work.
Rnd 1: from the 4th ch from the hook, work 6 dc in the same st, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 3 sc in the last ch, 1 hdc on the other side of the ch, 1 dc, close with sl st.
Rnd 2: Work 1 sl st in each st all around the piece then fasten off. Sew to the top of the basket lid.
Stem
Using Círculo Premium T-shirt yarn #5092 (Sage), ch 7 to start + 2 ch to turn the work.
Row 1: From the 3rd ch from the hook, work 3 hdc, 1 hdc inc, 3 hdc.
Row 2: Work 1 sl st in each st all around the piece then fasten off. Sew to the top of the basket lid.
