Materials: 

1 Bossa Nova skein – Color: 8990 (Night);

Círculo crochet hook – 6.0 mm.

Stitch Glossary & Abbreviations: Chain (ch). Slip stitch (sl st.): Insert the hook, yarn over, pull up a loop, and pass it directly through the loop on the hook. Single crochet (sc.): Insert the hook, yarn over, pull up a loop, then yarn over again and pull through both loops on the hook. Ribbed single crochet: 1st row: Work in sc.; 2nd row and onward: Work in sc., inserting the hook only into the back loop of the single crochet from the previous row. Fantasy stitch: Follow the chart.

Gauge: a 4-inch (10 cm) square in fantasy st. following the chart with a 6.0 mm hook = 17 sts. X 15 rows.

Instructions

Hat: start with the ribbing. Make a foundation chain of 8 sts. + 1 ch. to turn, and work in ribbed sc. following the instructions. When the piece measures 17.25 inches (44 cm), fasten off. Sew the ribbing into a circle. Next, work in rounds on one side of the ribbing in fantasy st., following the chart and repeating from to all the way around (38x). Close each round with a sl st. and start the next round with a chain. At 6 inches (15 cm) from the beginning, to finish the hat, work one round with 40 sc., then another round with 20 sts., working as follows: insert the hook, yarn over, pull up a loop, and keep the loop on the hook. Once all 20 sts. are completed, pass a yarn through all the loops, pull tight, and tie securely to close the top of the hat.
