Materials:

2 skeins of Anne – Color: 8001 (White);

Crochet hook – sizes 1.75 mm and 2.5 mm;

4 wooden buttons with a 1.5 cm diameter;

White fabric for lining.

 

Stitches used: Chain stitch (ch). Slip stitch (sl st): Insert the hook, yarn over, pull the loop through and pass it directly through the loop on the hook. Single crochet (sc): Insert the hook, yarn over, pull up a loop, and with another yarn over, draw through both loops on the hook. Double crochet (dc): Yarn over, insert the hook, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, draw through 2 loops, and with another yarn over, draw through the remaining loops. Treble crochet (tr): Yarn over twice, insert the hook, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, draw through 2 loops (repeat 2 times), and with another yarn over, draw through the remaining loops. Armhole ruffle: Follow the chart. Picot: Follow the chart.

 

Gauge: a 4-inch (10 cm) square in double crochet with a 1.75 mm hook = 22 stitches x 10 rows. 

 

Execution


Front and Back – Worked together. With a 1.75 mm hook, make a chain of 53 stitches plus 3 chains to turn, and work in dc. At 30.7 inches (78 cm) from the beginning, work the picot around the entire piece following the chart, and fasten off. Straps – Attach the yarn 5.1 inches (13 cm) from one of the longer sides of the piece (red dot on the pattern) and work in dc. At 11.8 inches (30 cm) from the beginning, attach to the next red dot and, using the 2.5 mm hook, work the armhole ruffle following the chart. Work from to in each row of dc. Finish the chart and fasten off. Work the red row of the chart on the back side. Make the other strap the same way.

 

Finishing – Line the cropped top. Overlap the right smaller edge by 0.4 inches (1 cm) over the left smaller edge and sew. Attach the buttons to the overlapped edge at regular intervals.
