Execution
The Bow Tie Top is flat-knitted from the bottom up, with the front and back worked separately and one shoulder and sides seamed together.
Back: CO 60, (68, 74, 80), 90, 98, 106 sts on US 8 / 5.0 mm needles and work in seed stitch for 10¼ (11, 11, 11¾), 11¾, 12⅝, 12⅝ in / 26, (28, 28, 30), 30, 32, 32 cm.
Now, to shape the armholes, BO on each side, every RS row: 3 sts (1x), then 2 sts (1x) and 1 st (2x), (14 sts decreased).
You should have 46, (54, 60, 66), 76, 84, 92 sts.
At 12⅝ (13⅜, 13⅜, 14⅛), 14⅛, 15, 15 in / 32, (34, 34, 36), 36, 38, 38 cm from the CO edge, BO 14, (16, 18, 20), 22, 24, 26 center sts to begin shaping the neckline and work on each side separately from now on.
You should have 16, (19, 23, 23), 27, 30, 33 sts for each side.
On the neckline edge, BO every RS row: 3 sts (1x), 2 sts (1x), then 1 st (3x), (8 sts decreased).
BO the left side when it measures 18⅛ (18⅞, 18⅞, 19¾), 19¾, 20½, 20½ in / 46, (48, 48, 50), 50, 52, 52 cm from the CO edge.
Continue knitting the tie strap on the right side for another 18⅛ (18⅞, 18⅞, 19¾), 19¾, 20½, 20½ in / 46, (48, 48, 50), 50, 52, 52 cm, BO all the sts.
Front: It is worked just like the back, but be aware that the tie strap must be on the opposite side.
Finishing: Seam the left shoulder and the sides of the body, weave in your ends, wet block, and lay flat to dry. Once the top is on, tie the right shoulder into a bow.
