Materials: Alpaccino – Alpaccino - 6 skeins 9196 (Mirage). Círculo knitting needles US 6 (4.0 mm). Círculo circular knitting needles US 6 (4.0 mm) with a 15.7 in (40 cm) cable. Tracing paper – for the pattern.
Stitches and abbreviations: The indications in ( ) are the abbreviations used in the pattern. Needle (needle), Stitch (st), Row (row), Bind off (BO), Knit stitch: (k), Purl (p), Decrease (dec), Yarn over (yo), Skein (skein), Knit (k), Times (x). 1/1 Rib: 1 k, 1 p, 1 k. Stockinette stitch: knit on the right side, purl on the wrong side. Reverse stockinette stitch: purl on the right side, knit on the wrong side. Pattern stitch: Multiple of 6 stitches plus 3 stitches. 1st row: 3 k, 3 p, 3 k. 2nd row: 1 k, 1 p, 1 k. 3rd row: Repeat the 1st row.
Gauge – A 3.9 in (10 cm) square in pattern stitch using US 6 (4.0 mm) needles = 27 sts x 28 rows.
Instructions: Transfer the pattern pieces to tracing paper to use as a reference when making the piece. Back – Using Alpaccino yarn in Mirage, cast on 135 sts using US 6 (4.0 mm) needles and knit in pattern stitch following the chart or instructions. When the work measures 19.7 in (50 cm) from the beginning, bind off. Front – Work as for the back until 18.1 in (46 cm) from the beginning of the work. At this point, for the neckline, bind off the 24 center sts and finish each side separately. Bind off at the neckline edge every other row: 5 sts, 4 sts, 3 sts, 2 sts, and 1 st. At 19.7 in (50 cm) from the beginning of the work, bind off. Finishing – Sew the shoulder seams. Using Alpaccino yarn in Mirage, pick up 94 sts with the circular knitting needle all the way around the neckline on the right side of the work and knit in 1/1 rib. At 3.9 in (10 cm) from the picked-up stitches, bind off. Fold the picked-up neckline stitches in half toward the wrong side and sew with very loose stitches so as not to tighten the neckline. Armhole finishing – Using Alpaccino yarn in Mirage, on the right side of the work, pick up 68 sts over 10.2 in (26 cm) on each side of one shoulder seam, using US 6 (4.0 mm) needles, and knit in 1/1 rib. Bind off 1 st at each side every other row 5 x. At 1.6 in (4 cm) from the picked-up stitches, bind off. Repeat the same process for both armholes. Sew the side seams and the armhole finishing.
