Knitting stitches used: pattern stitch (A): follow diagram 1, knit stitch: follow diagram 2.

Crochet stitches used: ch.: chain, s.c.: single crochet, sl st.: slip stitch, d.c.: double crochet, pattern stitch (B): follow diagram 3, pattern stitch (C): follow diagram 4.

Gauge: a 4-inch (10 cm) square in stockinette stitch (chart 3) using 3.5 mm knitting needles = 16 sts x 26 rows.

Execution

Transfer the templates onto tracing paper to use as a reference when creating the piece. Pay attention to the arrows in the measurement diagram indicating the direction of the work.

Central back piece: Using Charme 7563 (Chantilly) yarn, cast on 70 sts with 3.5 mm needles. Start the piece with the ribbing in pattern stitch (A – 4 repeats) following diagram 1 and the repeat stitches. At 19 inches (48 cm) from the beginning, fasten off the yarn and set the piece aside. Central front piece: Same as the central back piece. Right side strip (body) and lower sleeve section: Using Charme 7563 (Chantilly) yarn, cast on 14 sts with 3.5 mm needles. Knit 2 rounds in garter stitch, then continue in knit stitch following diagram 2 and the repeat stitches. At 33 inches (84 cm) from the beginning, fasten off the stitches and set the piece aside. Left side strip (body) and lower sleeve section: Same as the right side strip (body) and lower sleeve section. Assembly: Using Charme 7563 (Chantilly) yarn, join the side strips to the central back and front pieces. Upper crochet section of the back: Using Charme 7563 (Chantilly) yarn and a 3.0 mm crochet hook, work over the strips corresponding to the right and left sleeve sides and the central back piece in pattern stitch (B – 45 repeats) following diagram 3 and the repeat stitches from the 1st to the 14th rounds. Work in rounds back and forth. Upper crochet section of the front: Same as the upper crochet section of the back. On the 14th round, join the shoulders by connecting the center of the fans (17 fans – 16.5 inches / 42 cm) with slip stitches. Cuffs: Using Charme 7563 (Chantilly) yarn and a 3.0 mm crochet hook, attach the yarn around the cuff and work the edging in pattern stitch (C – 16 repeats) following diagram 4 and the repeat stitch. Work in circular round, closing each round with a slip stitch. Make the other cuff in the same way.
