- 2 stitch holders

Gauge: 20 sts × 23 rows = 10 cm (4") in stockinette using 5.0 mm needles

Instructions:

Using color 3794 (Bordeaux), cast on 84 sts. Join in the round, placing a stitch marker to indicate the beginning of round (BOR).

Work in 2x2 rib for 5 cm (2").

Switch to stockinette and increase 8 sts evenly across the round.

Distribute stitches and place raglan markers as follows:

5 sts (left front raglan – marker on 3rd), 26 sts (front), 5 sts (right front raglan – marker on 3rd), 12 sts (right sleeve), 5 sts (right back raglan – marker on 3rd), 26 sts (back), 5 sts (left back raglan – marker on 3rd)

Work raglan increases every 2 rows, 22 times = 44 rows total. Each increase row adds 8 sts.

Total after increases: 260 sts.

Resume working in the round, knitting 6 additional rounds. Then follow stranded colorwork chart for front/back/sleeves only, keeping raglan sts in color 9020.

Separate body and sleeves:

Place 54 sts for each sleeve on holders. Knit 86 sts front, cast on 6 sts for underarm, knit 86 sts back, cast on 6 sts for other underarm = 184 sts in total.

Work body in the round, continuing colorwork chart. After chart ends, decrease 12 sts evenly.

Switch to 2x2 rib and knit for 7 cm (2 3/4"). Bind off all sts.

Sleeves:

Return sleeve sts to circular needles, pick up 6 sts underarm (total 60 sts). Mark center of underarm.

Work colorwork to match body. Then work in color 9020, decreasing 1 st each side of underarm marker every 8th round, 10 times.

Work 2x2 rib for 3 cm (1 1/4"). Bind off. Repeat for second sleeve.

Yoke: front, back and the sleeves are worked together in the round at the beginning. Using the color 3794 (Bordeaux), cast-on 84 stitches on the circular needles, join the round and place a stitch marker before the 1st stitch to mark the beginning of the round (BOR). Work in 2x2 rib for 5 cm (2”), then switch to stockinette, make 8 evenly distributed increases on the 1st row and place stitch markers as follows: k3 for the left front raglan, put marker on the second st, 26 sts for the front, k3 for the right front raglan, put marker on the second st, 12 sts for the right sleeve, k3 for the right back raglan, put marker on the second st, 26 sts for the back, k3 for the left back raglan, put marker on the second st.

For the neckline, work flat as follows: leave the center 26 front stitches on hold and work the sleeves, back and raglan stitches in stockinette. Increase 1 stitch on each side of the raglan sts every 2 rows 22 times (44 rows in total). At the same time, for the front neckline, slowly return the stitches on hold, every 2 rows: 1 sts, 2 sts, 3 sts, 4 sts, 6 sts, 10 sts. At this point, all stitches should be on the needles.

Continue in stockinette in the round for 6 more rounds, then work in stranded colorwork following the chart with the indicated colors. Follow the chart only on the front, back and sleeve sts and knit the raglan stitches with the first yarn from the knit. You should have 260 sts on the needles once all increases have been made.

Separate the front, back and sleeve stitches as follows: k86 sts for the front, place 54 sts on a stitch holder for the first sleeve, cast-on 6 stitches for the underarm, k86 sts for the back, place 54 sts on another stitch holder for the second sleeve, cast-on 6 stitches for the underarm. You should end with 172 sts on the needles. Continue following the pattern from where you’ve stopped. Once the colorwork pattern is done, make 12 evenly distributed decreases and work in 2x2 rib for 7 cm (2 3/4”), then bind-off all stitches.

Place the 1st sleeve stitches back on the circular needles, pick up and knit 6 sts on the underarm and continue following the colorwork pattern from where it stopped when you separated the stitches. Once the colorwork is done, continue working with the color 9020. Place a marker in the middle of the 6 underarm stitches (between the 3rd and 4th sts) to mark the beginning of the round. Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker every 8th round, 10 times in total. When all the decreases have been made, work in 2x2 rib for 3 cm (1 1/4”) and bind-off all stitches.

Make the second sleeve the same way.

Note: Work the stranded colorwork chart over 14 full repeats per round.
