Materials:

• 3 (4, 4, 5, 5, 5) skeins of Bossa Nova – Color: 9021 (Luau)

• 1 (2, 2, 2, 2, 2) skein of Bossa Nova – Color: 940 (Black)

• US 8 (5.0 mm) knitting needles

• 2 cable needles

• 4 stitch markers

Gauge: a 10 cm (4") square in stockinette stitch with 5.0 mm needles = 20 sts x 26 rows.

Abbreviations:

• k: knit

• p: purl

• sts: stitches

• st: stitch

Stitch Patterns:

• 1x1 Rib (flat rows): [k1, p1] repeat across.

• 3x3 Rib (flat rows): [k3, p3] repeat across.

• Stockinette Stitch: Knit on RS, purl on WS (or knit every round when working in the round).

• Seed Stitch: Row 1 and all odd rows: [k1, p1]. Row 2 and all even rows: work sts as they appear (knit the purls and purl the knits).

• Fantasy Stitch: follow the chart.

Instructions

Note: The piece is worked from top to bottom, in one piece, starting at the neckline.

Neckline

With Bossa Nova Color 9021 (Luau) and 5.0 mm needles, cast on 92 (94, 98, 102, 104, 106) sts.Work in 1x1 rib for 5 cm (2").

Divide Fronts, Back, and Sleeves

Place markers and divide the stitches as follows:

Setup Row

Right Front:• 10 sts in 1x1 rib• 4 (4, 5, 5, 6, 6) sts in purl

Right Sleeve:• 5 sts in 1x1 rib,• 9 (10, 11, 11, 12, 12) sts in fantasy stitch,• 5 sts in 1x1 rib.

Back:• 26 (26, 27, 29, 29, 30) sts in fantasy stitch

Left Sleeve:• 5 sts in 1x1 rib,• 9 (10, 11, 11, 12, 12) sts in fantasy stitch,• 5 sts in 1x1 rib.

Left Front:• 4 (4, 5, 5, 6, 6) sts in purl,• 10 sts in 1x1 rib.

Increases

Note: Begin increases after completing the 1x1 rib. Work the increases (when indicated) one stitch before and one stitch after each marker.Work the last increase one stitch before the 1x1 rib section at the end.

Continue working the stitches as established until the armhole measures7 (7.8, 8.6, 9, 9.8, 10.6) in / 18 (20, 22, 23, 25, 27) cm from the first increase row.

Separate the Sleeves

After completing all increases, place sleeve stitches on a holder or scrap yarn and leave them on hold.

Body

With Bossa Nova Color 9021 (Luau), work the side stitches in 1x1 rib and the center stitches in fantasy stitch.

Note: Continue following the stitch pattern as established.At 14 cm, (5.6”) switch to Bossa Nova Color 940 (Black).At 17 cm, (6.6”) switch back to Bossa Nova Color 9021 (Luau).At 20 cm, (7.8”) continue with Bossa Nova Color 940 (Black).Work for another 3.2 (3.2, 3.2, 3.6, 3.6, 3.6) in / 8 (8, 8, 9, 9, 9) cm and bind off.

Sleeves

Return the stitches of one sleeve to the 5.0 mm needles and, with Bossa Nova Color 9021 (Luau), work in fantasy stitch.Be careful to maintain the stitch pattern.

Cuff

At 15 (14.6, 13.8, 13.4, 13, 12.6) in / 38 (37, 35, 34, 33, 32) cm, switch to Bossa Nova Color 940 (Black) and work in 3x3 rib for 8 cm (3.2”).Bind off all stitches.

Repeat for the other sleeve.

Finishing

Weave in all ends, wash, and block the piece to measurements.
