Execution:

Ribbing: Ch 25.

1st row: SC into the second ch from the hook, 23 SC.

2nd to 151st row: ch 1, turn the work, 24 SC in the BLO.

Fasten-off and make 151 SC on the side of the panel (1 SC into each ribbing row). You’re going to work on those stitches to create the body.


Body: make all stitches in the BLO; work on the 151 sts from the previous row.

1 – Ch 1, turn the work, 70 SC, 1 inc., 80 SC; (152 sts)

2 – Ch 3, 151 DC; (152 sts)

3 – Ch 3, 9 DC, 1 DC inc., 15 DC, 1 DC inc., 17 DC, 1 DC inc., 36 DC, 1 DC inc., 22 DC, 1 DC inc., 22 DC, 1 DC inc., 19 DC, 1 DC inc., 4 DC; (159 sts)

4 to 19 – Ch 3, 158 DC; (159 sts)

Fasten-off. Now you’re going to separate the stitches to create the neckline.

Separate 37 stitches on each side of the piece; the next rows should still be made in the BLO.

Start working on the 38th stitch from row 19 of the body:

20 – Ch 3, 82 DC, 1  DC dec.; (84 sts)

21 – 1 slst into the 2nd stitch, ch 3, 80 DC, 1 DC dec.; (82 sts)

22 – 1 slst into the 2nd stitch, ch 3, 38 DC, 1 DC dec.; (40 sts)

(On row 22 you divide the stitches for the neckline. Follow the instructions below for the first panel, then repeat on the stitches that remained from row 22, starting at the same stitch as the decrease).

23 – 1 slst into the 2nd stitch, ch 3, 36 DC, 1 DC dec.; (38 sts)

24 – 1 slst into the 2nd stitch, ch 3, 34 DC, 1 DC dec.; (36 sts)

25 – 1 slst into the 2nd stitch, ch 3, 32 DC, 1 DC dec.; (34 sts)

26 – 1 slst into the 2nd stitch, ch 3, 30 DC, 1 DC dec.; (32 sts)

27 – 1 slst into the 2nd stitch, ch 3, 28 DC, 1 DC dec.; (30 sts)

Fasten-off, leaving a yarn tail for seaming. Seam rows 76 and 77 to rows 18 and 19 of the body, 12 stitches away from the beginning of row 19.

Repeat the steps above on the stitches that haven’t been worked after row 22, starting at the same stitch as the last decrease.


Back finishing:

●      Side with buttons:

1 – Make a SC row on the side of the body (make 1 SC for each DC row of the body and 1 SC for each SC of the ribbing) (43 sts).

2 to 7 – Ch 1, turn the work, 43 SC. (43 sts)

Attach the 5 buttons to row 6, leaving a 3 cm space between each one.

●      Side with buttonholes:

1 – Make a SC row on the side of the body (make 1 SC for each DC row of the body and 1 SC for each SC of the ribbing) (43 sts).

2 to 6 – Ch 1, turn the work, 43 SC; (43 sts) 

7 – Ch 1, turn the work, ch 3, skip 2 stitches, 8 SC, ch 3, skip 2 stitches, 8 SC, ch 3, skip 2 stitches, 8 SC, ch 3, skip 2 stitches, 7 SC, ch 3, skip 2 stitches, 1 SC. Fasten-off. (33 sts)
