Level of difficulty



Sizes: S (M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL)

 

Materials:

9 (10, 12, 14, 15, 17) skeins of Veluna – Color: 6313 (Blackberry);

Círculo knitting needles – 4.0 mm and 7.0 mm.

 

Stitches used: Ribbing 1/1: 1 purl, 1 knit.

Pattern Stitch: 1st row: 1 purl, 1 knit. 2nd row and all even rows: follow the stitches. 3rd row: 1 knit, 1 purl. 5th row: go back to the 1st row.

 

Gauge: a 3.94 inches (10 cm) square in double seed stitch on 7.0 mm needles = 16 sts x 22 rows

 

Execution

 

Front and Back – They are started together. Cast on 146 (162, 178, 194, 210, 226) sts on 7.0 mm needles and knit as follows: 6 sts in ribbing 1/1, 134 (150, 166, 182, 198, 214) sts in pattern stitch, and 6 sts in ribbing 1/1. At 26.75 (27.5, 28.25, 29.25, 30, 30.75) in /   68 (70, 72, 74, 76, 78) cm from the beginning, separate the stitches as follows: 40 (43, 48, 52, 56, 60) sts for the right front, 66 (76, 82, 90, 98, 106) sts for the back, and 40 (43, 48, 52, 56, 60) sts for the left front. Work each part separately.

 

Back – Rejoin the 66 (76, 82, 90, 98, 106) sts for the back on 7.0 mm needles and continue in pattern stitch as before. For the armholes, decrease on each side every 2nd row:

S: 3 sts (once), then 2 sts (once), and then 1 st (twice)

M: 3 sts (once), then 2 sts (once), and then 1 st (3 times)

L: 3 sts (once), then 2 sts (once), and then 1 st (4 times)

XL: 3 sts (once), then 2 sts (once), and then 1 st  (5 times)

2XL: 3 sts (once), then 2 sts (once), and then 1 st (5 times)

3XL: 3 sts (once), then 2 sts (once), and then 1 st (6 times)

 At 34.25 (35.5, 36.5, 38.25, 39.25, 40.5) in / 87 (90, 93, 97, 100, 103) cm from the beginning of the work, bind off. 

 

Right Front – Rejoin the sts for the right front and continue in pattern stitch as before. For the armhole, decrease on the left side as done for the back. Bind off for the armhole on the left side as done for the back.

At 32 (33, 34.25, 35.75, 37, 38.25) in / 81 (84, 87, 91, 94, 97) cm from the beginning of the work, for the neckline, bind off on the right side every 2nd row:

S: 9 sts (once), then 4 sts (once), then 3 sts (once), then 2 sts (once), and then 1 st (once).

M: 9 sts (once), then 4 sts (once), then 3 sts (once), then 2 sts (once), and then 1 st (once).  

L: 12 sts (once), then 4 sts (once), then 3 sts (once), then 2 sts (once), and then 1 st (once).

XL: 12 sts (once), then 5 sts (once), then 4 sts (once), then 3 sts (once), and then 2 st (once).  

2XL: 12 sts (once), then 5 sts (once), then 4 sts (once), then 3 sts (once), and then 2 st (once). 

3XL: 12 sts (once), then 6 sts (once), then 5 sts (once), then 4 sts (once), and then 2 st (once). 

 

At 34.25 (35.5, 36.5, 38.25, 39.25, 40.5) in / 87 (90, 93, 97, 100, 103) from the beginning of the work, bind off.

 

Left Front – Rejoin the sts for the left front and work as the right front, but in reverse.

 

Sleeves – Cast on 38 (40, 42, 44, 46, 46) sts on 4.0 mm needles and knit in ribbing 1/1. At 1.18 inches (3 cm) from the beginning of the work, switch to 7.0 mm needles and knit in pattern stitch. Increase on each side every 8th row:

S: 1 st (10 times)

M: 1 st (11 times)

L: 1 st (13 times)

XL: 1 st (15 times)

2XL: 1 st (17 times)

3XL: 1 st (19 times)

 

At 18 (18, 19, 19, 19.75, 19.75) in / 46 (46, 48, 48, 50, 50) cm from the beginning of the work, for the armhole, bind off on each side every 2nd row:

S: 2 sts (9 times)

M: 2 sts (10 times)

L: 2 sts (10 times), then 1 st (once)

XL: 2 sts (11 times)

2XL: 2 sts (11 times)

3XL: 2 sts (11 times), then 1 st (once)

 

At 22 (22, 22.75, 22.75, 23.5, 23.5) in / 56 (56, 58, 58, 60, 60) cm from the beginning of the work, bind off.

 

Finishing - Sew the shoulders.

Collar – With 7.0 mm needles, pick up 77 (92, 96, 102, 115, 122) sts on the right side of the work along the neckline, leaving the 6 sts in ribbing 1/1 on each side unpicked. Knit in pattern stitch. At 5.51 inches (14 cm) from the picked-up sts, bind off.

Assemble the sleeves. Sew the sides and the sleeves.
