Instructions

Transfer the templates onto tracing paper to use as a reference while working the piece. Follow the arrows on the measurement chart indicating the working direction. Work the entire piece in rows (back and forth) using the circular needles. Change colors of Natural Cotton Maxcolor yarns — 7220 (Tâmara), 7259 (Bronze), and 7684 (Porcelain) — according to the charts (1, 2, and 3).

Right Front:

Using Natural Cotton Maxcolor yarn in Porcelain, cast on 32 (36, 40, 42, 46, 50) sts on US 6 (4.0 mm) circular needles. Begin the piece in 1×1 rib, following chart 1 and the repeat pattern from row 1 to row 8. Change colors according to the chart.

On the following row, continue the piece in stockinette stitch, following chart 2, the repeat pattern, and the color changes.

At 9.5 (9.5, 10.25, 11, 11.75, 12.5) in / 24 (24, 26, 28, 30, 32) cm in length, begin shaping the armhole and neckline simultaneously.

For the armhole, bind off on the left side:

S:  3 sts (once)

M: 4 sts (once)

L: every 2 rows: 4 sts (once), then 3 sts (once)

XL: every 2 rows: 3 sts (3 times)

2XL: every 2 rows: 4 sts (3 times)

3XL: every 2 rows: 4 sts (3 times), then 1 st (once)

For the neckline, bind off every 2 rows on the right side:

S:  1 st (5 times)

M: 1 st (8 times)

L: 1 st (9 times)

XL: 1 st (7 times)

2XL: 1 st (8 times)

3XL: 1 st (11 times)

At 17 (17.75, 19, 20, 21.75, 22.75) in / 43 (45, 48, 51, 55, 58) cm from the beginning, place the remaining 24 (24, 24, 26, 26, 26) sts on a stitch holder (or a crochet hook) to finish the shoulder later.

Left Front:

Same as the right front, reversing the sides for the armhole and neckline bind-offs.

Back:

Using Natural Cotton Maxcolor yarn in Porcelain, cast on 74 (76, 84, 92, 102, 104) sts on US 6 (4.0 mm) circular needles. Begin the piece in 1×1 rib, following chart 1 and the repeat pattern from row 1 to row 8. Change colors according to the chart.

On the following row, continue the piece in stockinette stitch, following chart 2, the repeat pattern, and the color changes.

At 9.5 (9.5, 10.25, 11, 11.75, 12.5) in / 24 (24, 26, 28, 30, 32) cm in length, begin shaping the armholes.

For the armholes, bind off on each side:

S:  3 sts (once)

M: 4 sts (once)

L: every 2 rows: 4 sts (once), then 3 sts (once)

XL: every 2 rows: 3 sts (3 times)

2XL: every 2 rows: 4 sts (3 times)

3XL: every 2 rows: 4 sts (3 times), then 1 st (once)

Leaving a total of 68 (68, 70, 74, 78, 78) sts.

At 17 (17.75, 19, 20, 21.75, 22.75) in / 43 (45, 48, 51, 55, 58) cm from the beginning, place the stitches on a stitch holder (or crochet hook) as follows:

For the neckline: 20 (20, 22, 22, 26, 26) central sts.

For each shoulder side: 24 (24, 24, 26, 26, 26) sts.

Set the piece aside.

Sleeve:

Using Natural Cotton Maxcolor yarn in Porcelain, cast on 40 (42, 44, 48, 50, 54) sts on US 6 (4.0 mm) circular needles. Begin the piece in 1×1 rib, following chart 3 and the repeat pattern from row 1 to row 12. Change colors according to the chart.

On the following row, continue the piece in stockinette stitch, following chart 2, the repeat pattern, and the color changes.

Increase 1 st at each edge (2 sts total):

S:  every 11 rows: 7 times.

M: every 10 rows: 8 times.

L: every 9 rows: 9 times.

XL: every 10 rows: 8 times.

2XL: every 8 rows: 10 times.

3XL: every 9 rows: 9 times.

Total 54 (58, 62, 64, 70, 72) sts.

At 19 (19, 19.25, 19.25, 19.75, 19.75) in / 48 (48, 49, 49, 50, 50) cm from the beginning, bind off all sts.

Work the second sleeve the same way and set both aside.

Assembly and Finishing:

Using a tapestry needle, sew the shoulders with an invisible seam over the 24 (24, 24, 26, 26, 26) sts held on the stitch holders for the front and back pieces, leaving the armhole opening 7.5 (8.25, 8.75, 9, 9.75, 10.25) in / 19 (21, 22, 23, 25, 26) cm. Sew the sleeves closed and set them into the armholes.

Yoke and Neckline:

Using Natural Cotton Maxcolor yarn in Porcelain and US 6 (4.0 mm) circular needles, pick up the sts as follows: pick up 55 (57, 62, 66, 71, 76) sts along the right front edge, place the 20 (20, 22, 22, 26, 26) sts held for the back neckline back on the needles, then pick up 55 (57, 62, 66, 71, 76) sts along the left front edge, for a total of 130 (134, 146, 154, 168, 178) sts. Knit in 1×1 rib, following chart 1 and the repeat pattern from row 1 to row 5, changing colors according to the chart. On the yoke of the left front, sew on the 4 buttons.
