02/24/2025 "After watching many SS25 fashion shows I was obsessed with Lace Ribs. And turns out that, if you work one Purl stitch from the one color Brioche, it does look like a perfect lace rib. One thing I love about knitting is how we can work stripes as we wish - as a Fashion designer, I remember how difficult it was to find different and custom made striped fabrics. This design is an easy way to start lace knitting, since it’s an easy pattern to follow. It is knitted bottom up in two pieces and sewed on the sides and shoulders." Cris Bertoluci Level of difficulty Sizes: I, II, III (IV, V, VI) - 88, 96, 105 (112, 124, 136) cm | 34.65, 37.75, 41.35 (44, 49, 53.5)” chest circumference The Tunic is fit to the body measurements. 03/15/2025 Level of difficulty Materials: 4.5 mm knitting needles: preferably circular needles with a 100 cm cable, but straight needles might work if they’re long enough; 1 skein of Anne yarn in the following colors: - 20 - Natural; - 1709 - Gouda; - 7030 - Mustard; - 7529 - Terracotta; - 7136 - Marsala; - 2856 - Teal. Stitch markers; Tapestry needle; Scissors. Abbreviations : k : knit p : purl st(s) : stitch(es) k2tog : k 2 stitches together (right leaning decrease) ssk : slip 1 st knitwise, another one purlwise, place them back on the left needle and k them together through the back loop (left leaning decrease) p2tog : p 2 stitches together M1L : make 1 left (left-leaning increase) M1R : make 1 right (right-leaning increase) PFB : purl in the front and back loops (simple increase) CO : cast-on BO : bind-off RS : right side WS : wrong side Measurements : Gauge : 20 sts x 40 rows in 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4’) in garter stitch after blocking, using 4.5 mm needles. Pattern overview and important information: This blanket is knit diagonally, starting at one corner and ending on the opposite one. On the first half of the blanket, you’re going to make an increase on each edge, every other row. After you reach the middle of the blanket, you’re going to decrease every other row, until you have the same amount of stitches you had at the start (3) and the same number of rows as well. The blanket has 9 different stripes, made in 5 different colors (2 in Gouda, 2 in Mustard, 2 in Terracotta, 2 in Marsala and 1 in Teal). The colors are worked as follows: Gouda, Mustard, Terracotta, Marsala, Teal, Marsala, Terracotta, Mustard and Gouda. Between each color, there is an eyelet band. You can see the color distribution on the chart at the end of the pattern. Throughout the entire pattern, you are going to use 2 strands of yarn held together , to meet the gauge. If you decide to use interchangeable circular needles, you might prefer to start the project using a 60 cm cable and change to longer ones according to the amount of stitches on your needles. If you use fixed circular needles, don’t use a cable smaller than 100 cm, otherwise it won’t fit all the stitches. 1st part- increases Using 2 strands of Anne in the color Gouda , CO 3 stitches using your preferred method. First stripe (in Gouda): 1st row (RS): k all sts. 2nd row (WS) (increase): k 1, M1L , k until 1 st remains on the left needle, M1R , k1. (2 sts increased) Work rows 1 and 2 a total of 19 times, until you have worked 38 rows in total using the current color. Cut the yarn. Using 2 strands of Anne in the color Natural , make an increasing eyelet band: 1st row : k all sts. 2nd row : p1, PFB , p until 1 st remains on the left needle, PFB , p1.(2 sts increased) 3rd row : k1, {yo, k2tog}, repeat {...} until the end of the row. 4th row: repeat the 2nd row. Cut the yarn. For the first Mustard , Terracotta and Marsala stripes, repeat the instructions for the First stripe, written above. You should have 38 rows on each stripe before you change colors. Between each stripe, make an increasing eyelet band following the instructions above. 2nd part- middle stripe Using 2 strands of Anne in the color Teal , work as follows: 1st row (RS): k all sts. 2nd row (WS) (increase): k 1, M1L , k until 1 st remains on the left needle, M1R , k1. (2 sts increased) Work rows 1 and 2 a total of 20 times. You should’ve increased your work by 20 stitches at this point. You have now finished the increasing section of the blanket and are going to start decreasing. 3rd row (RS): k all sts. 4th row (WS) (decrease): k 1, ssk , k until 3 sts remains on the left needle, k2tog , k1. (2 sts decreased) Work rows 3 and 4 a total of 20 times. You should’ve decreased your work by 20 stitches at this point and have the same amount of stitches you had at the beginning of this stripe. After you finish all the decreases for this section, you should have worked 40 rows for this stripe only . Cut the yarn. 3rd part- decreases Using 2 strands of Anne in the color Marsala , work as follows: 1st row (RS): k all sts. 2nd row (WS) (decrease): k 1, ssk , k until 1 st remains on the left needle, k2tog , k1. (2 sts decreased) Work rows 1 and 2 a total of 19 times, until you have worked 38 rows in total using the current color. Cut the yarn. Using 2 strands of Anne in the color Natural , make a decreasing eyelet band: 1st row : k all sts. 2nd row : p1, p2tog , p until 1 st remains on the left needle, p2tog , p1.(2 sts decreased) 3rd row : k1, {yo, k2tog}, repeat {...} until the end of the row. 4th row: repeat the 2nd row. Cut the yarn. For the second Terracotta , Mustard and Gouda stripes, repeat the instructions for the First decreasing stripe (marsala), written above. You should have 38 rows on each stripe before you change colors. Between each stripe, make a decreasing eyelet band following the instructions above. After you finish your last row in the color Gouda, you should have 3 sts left on your needles. BO knitwise. Finishing touches Weave-in all your yarn ends. Then, wash and block your piece carefully, pinning it to the correct measurements so it has a square shape and all sides have the same measurements. Using Anne in the color Natural , make 4 tassels (you can also make pompoms- it’s up to you). You can follow this tutorial or the written instructions below: How to make a Tassel - Quick & Easy Yarn Tassel DIY - CRAFT BASICS 1- Wrap 1 strand of yarn around a piece of cardboard measuring 4 inches (you can also wrap it around 4 of your fingers) 20 times. 2- Slide a separate piece of yarn under the wrapped yarn at the top and tie a tight knot. 3- Slide the yarn off the cardboard (or your hand) and cut through all the bottom loops. 4- Wrap another piece of yarn about ½ to 1 inch below the top knot , tie it securely, and tuck in the ends. 5- Even out the strands with scissors, fluff the tassel, and it's ready to use. Attach the tassels to each corner of the blanket, securing them really well. Weave in the remaining ends. Your blanket is done! Ch 3. 1st row: SC in the 2nd ch from the hook. 2nd row: rotate your work so the SC you just made is on top. Find the loop at the base of the “v” created from the stitch and insert the hook under it. Yarn over, pull through, yarn over again and pull through both loops to make another SC. 3rd row: Rotate your work again so the last stitch you made is on top. Insert the hook under the “v” created by the last stitch and make another SC. Repeat the 3rd row until your cord measures 50 cm. Gauges: 10 x 10 cm, square in DC, using 2.0 mm needles = 28 sts x 16 rows. 10 x 10 cm square in thong stitch (chart 2), using 2.0 mm needles = 37 sts x 18 rows. Instructions Transfer the molds to wax paper to use as reference when making the piece. Pay attention to the arrows on the Measurements chart indicating the directions of the work. Top: start the piece at the center front and make the left and right cups at once. Left cup: use Verano 613 (Tiffany) and a 2.0 mm hook. Ch 34. 1st row : ch 3, 33 DC. Rows 2-95: continue following chart 1, working flat. Right cup : join Verano 613 (Tiffany) to the initial chain and repeat chart 1 for rows 1-95. Make the entire panel flat. Fasten-off when your work measures 15 cm. Thread the yarn tail through a tapestry needle and seam the sides of the strap lengthwise, creating a 2 cm x 10 cm tube. Attach the yarn to the top of the cups and make one romanian cord on each side (50 cm each). Lining: cut the fabric according to the top measurements, without the side ties. Seam the lining to the crochet panel using a sewing machine (or by hand if you don’t have one) and Maxxi Retrós 527 (Rio). Thong (1st step): use Verano 613 (Tiffany) and a 2.0 mm hook. Follow chart 3 (30 motifs) and the st repeat for rounds 1-30. 2nd step: fold your piece in half. Using the stitch markers, mark 16 cm for the center front and 16 for the center back. Now work on each of these panels separately, following chart 4 for rows 31-50 and working flat. Once both panels are done, join the crotch with a tapestry needle. Finishing trim: return to the 2.0 mm hook and make 1 row of SC around the armholes and the waist, attaching the round elastic at the same time. 02/24/2025 Level of difficulty Materials: 6 skeins Aloe Vera Yarn - White (8001); Crochet hook - H/5.00mm; Yarn needle; Scissors; Beads; Blocking mat and pins. Abbreviations: Ch - chain Sc - single crochet Hdc - half double crochet Dc - double crochet St - stitch Sl st - slip stitch Tr - triple crochet Tr2tog - triple crochet two together Notes: *I highly recommend blocking the sarong. *The top is made up of a stitch called the “double lattice stitch”. I wrote this pattern in size small, medium, and large but this garment can be made for any size; just make a foundation ch that is a multiple of 6 stitches plus five. *The model in the image is wearing a size small top and size small sarong. Top instructions Small: ch 142 Medium: ch 149 Large: ch 155 Row 1: 1 tr in the 7th ch from the hook (counts as a edge cluster), ch 4, 1 tr into the same ch as the tr just made, tr2tog inserting hook into the next ch for the 1st leg and then into the following 5th ch for the 2nd leg (skipping 4 ch between), ch 4, 1 tr into the same ch as 2nd leg of cluster just made; rep from to the last 4 chs, tr2tog inserting hook into the next ch for the 1st leg and into the last ch for the 2nd leg (skipping 2 ch between), turn. Row 2: Ch 6 (counts as 1 tr, ch 2), 1 tr into the 1st st, tr2tog inserting hook into the next tr for the 1st leg and then into the next cluster for 2nd leg *, ch 4, 1 tr into the same place as 2nd leg of cluster just made; rep from ending last rep at * when 2nd leg is in the edge cluster, ch 2, 1 tr into the same place, turn. Row 3: Ch 4, sk 2 chs, 1 tr into the next cluster (counts as edge cluster), ch 4, 1 tr into the same place as tr just made *, tr2tog inserting hook into the next tr for the 1st leg and then into the next cluster for the 2nd leg; rep from ending last rep at *, tr2tog inserting hook into the next tr for the 1st leg and then into the following 3rd ch for the 2nd leg, turn. Repeat Rows 2 - 3 five more times. You can keep repeating for a longer top. Fold the piece in half and whip stitch the sides together. Weave in ends. Turn right side out. If you are planning on adding the tie in the center to make the top cinched, then have the seam be right down the front of you. Otherwise, the seam can go along one of the sides. Top & Bottom Border Now attach your yarn in any st or sp along the top of the garment and ch 1. Round 1: Ch 1, 1 sc in the same st/sp, place 3 sc in the ch-4 sps and 1 sc in all other sts around. If you get confused, just make sure you do a round of sc evenly around the piece. The st count does not necessarily matter, this is just to add a finished look. Join with a sl st to the first sc. Finish off. Weave in ends. Shoulder Tie Straps - make 4 (2 for the front, 2 for the back) Ch 110, finish off. Attach to the garment by folding the strap in half, insert halfway into desired space, then take the ends of your strap and place it through the loop of the folded strap, then pull tight. Place two in front and then two in back adjacent to the front ones. Then tie together. Center Tie Ch 75, finish off. Using your yarn needle, place one end of the tie on the yarn needle and from the bottom center of the garment start weaving your tie up through spaces in and out along the right side of the seam until you get to the top. Then do the same thing back down along the left side of the seam. Pull tight and tie a bow. Add beads if you would like. Sarong Instructions Small: ch 149 Medium: ch 155 Large: ch 161 Row 1: 1 tr in the 7th ch from the hook (counts as a edge cluster), ch 4, 1 tr into the same ch as the tr just made, tr2tog inserting hook into the next ch for the 1st leg and then into the following 5th ch for the 2nd leg (skipping 4 ch between), ch 4, 1 tr into the same ch as 2nd leg of cluster just made; rep from to the last 4 chs, tr2tog inserting hook into the next ch for the 1st leg and into the last ch for the 2nd leg (skipping 2 ch between), turn. Row 3: Ch 4, sk 2 chs, 1 tr in the top of the cluster, 1 tr in the next tr, ch 4, 1 tr in the top of the cluster, 1 tr in the next tr repeat across, ending with 1 tr in the 3rd ch of the turning ch. Turn. Row 4: Ch 4, sk 1 tr, tr2tog over the next two sts, ch 4, sk ch 4 sp, 1 tr in each of the next two sts, repeat across, until you have one ch 4 sp and two triple crochets left, ch 4, sk ch 4 sp, tr2tog over the last two tr, 1 tr in the 3rd ch of the ch 4 turning ch. Row 5: Ch 6, 1 tr in the ch 4 sp, ch 4, 1 tr in the next ch 4 sp, repeat across ending with 1 tr in the top of the turning ch. Turn. Repeat Row 5 until you have decreased every row until you are left with one ch-4 sp. Finish off. Now join yarn in the top corner of the skirt (in the ch sp), you will be working on the beaded border down to the bottom point and then around to the other corner. If you are going to add beads then string all of your beads onto your working yarn before you start. Row 1: Ch 3, (1 dc, 1 tr, 1 dc, 1 hdc) all in same/next sp, ch 1, pull bead up, then ch 1, 1 sc into the next st - the side of the ch along the next row, [(1 dc, 1 tr, 1 dc, 1 hdc) in the next ch sp, 1 sc in the next st,] twice, repeat sequence until you reach the bottom point/ch sp, (1 dc, 1 tr, add bead, ch 1, 1 tr, 1 dc) in ch sp. Continue with the sequence you were doing before: (1 dc, 1 tr, 1 dc, 1 hdc) all in same/next sp, ch 1, pull bead up, then ch 1, 1 sc into the next st - the side of the ch along the next row, [(1 dc, 1 tr, 1 dc, 1 hdc) in the next ch sp, 1 sc in the next st,] twice, repeat sequence until you reach the corner. Turn. Row 2: Ch 20, sk 2 petals, sc in the center of the next petal , repeat all the way around. Turn.
