12/17/2025 Level of difficulty Sizes:  S (M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL) Materials: 4.0 mm circular knitting needles with 60 and 80 cm cables; 5.0 mm circular knitting needles with 40, 60 and 80 cm cables; 15 stitch markers (14 of them in the same color for the short rows and 1 in a different color for the beginning of the round- BOR); Merino Bossa Nova yarn in the colors: •      7655 ( Clove ) – 6 (7, 7, 7, 8, 8) hanks ; •      20 ( Natural ) – 1 hank ; •      9020 ( Mustard ) – 1 hank ; •      7529 ( Terracota ) – 1 hank . *Note:  if you prefer to knit the sleeves using the Magic loop method, you may switch the 40 cm cables for 80 or 100 cm ones. Gauge: 16 sts/21 rounds = 4 inches / 10cm square in pattern stitch using US 8 / 5 mm needles Stitches and techniques:  •      2x2 rib 1 st round : {k2, p2}, repeat instructions between { } to end of round; 2 nd round forward :   work in pattern ; •      Stockinette stitch:  k all stitches in the round ; •      Colorwork pattern:  follow the chart. •      To resolve short row W&T stitches: on the right side , pick up the wrap with the right needle from front to back, insert the right needle into the stitch that is wrapped and knit the wrap and the stitch together. On the wrong side , pick up the wrap with the right needle from back to front, place the wrap onto the left needle, over and behind the stitch it was wrapping and purl together the wrap and the stitch that is wrapped.   EXECUTION The piece is knit top down, starting at the collar. The round yoke is knit using a stranded colorwork technique, with evenly distributed increases throughout the work. The body and sleeves are knit in stockinette stitch, while the collar, ribbing and cuffs are made in 2x2 rib. Collar and yoke: provisional cast-on 92 (92, 96, 96, 100, 100) stitches using 4.0 mm needles with a 60 cm cable and some yarn in a different color. Using color 7655 (Clove) , join the round, place the BOR marker (middle of back) and work 3.5 in / 9 cm in 2x2 rib. In the next round, fold the collar rows in half and k all live stitches together with the cast-on stitches. When you’re done, switch to 5.0 mm needles with a 60 cm cable and k one round in stockinette, increasing every 4th stitch. You should end with 115 (115, 120, 120, 125, 125) stitches on the needles. In the next round start following the colorwork chart with 29 (29, 30, 30, 31, 31) stitch pattern repeats, increasing as indicated by making a yarnover that, in the next round,  must be knitted through the back loop to avoid creating a hole. . Switch to an 80 cm cable when necessary, after you’ve made enough increases. You should finish the chart motif with 289 (289, 300, 300, 311, 311) stitches on the needles.           Now you’re going to make a few short rows to elongate the back and shape the shoulders (14 short rows in total). To do so, put 7 markers on each side, the first one 70 (70, 75, 75, 80, 80) stitches after the BOR marker and the 6 next markers with 8 stitches between each. Place the markers like this on both sides from the BOR. After all markers have been placed, slip the BOR marker and k 70 (70, 75, 75, 80, 80), making a W&T on the last one. Remove the marker, turn the work and p until you reach the first short row marker on the other side. W&T the last stitch, remove the marker, turn the work and repeat the process, making a W&T when you reach each short row marker and resolving the W&TS along the process. Don’t remove the BOR marker. Once you make the last short row, turn your work and k in the round, resolving the last pending W&Ts (1 on each side). From now on, go back to knitting in the round. Keep only the BOR marker. Knit 0 (2, 4, 4, 6, 9) more rounds in stockinette before separating the sleeve stitches. *Note:  the method used for the short rows was the Wrap and Turn method. However, feel free to use your preferred method when making the short rows. Body: Now you’re going to separate the sleeve stitches from the body. Starting from the BOR marker, k 41 (41, 43, 43, 44, 44) (first half of the back). Place the next 62 (62, 64, 64, 67, 67) stitches (right sleeve) on a spare needle or a piece of scrap yarn and leave it on hold. Cast-on 3 (6, 7, 12, 16, 24)   stitches for the underarm. Next, k 83 (83, 86, 86, 89, 89) stitches (front of the body), place the next 62 (62, 64, 64, 67, 67) stitches on hold (left sleeve), cast-on 3 (6, 7, 12, 16, 24) sts for the underarm and k the remaining 41 (41, 43, 43, 44, 44) stitches (second half of the back). You should have 171 (177, 186, 196, 209, 225) stitches left on the needles. Knit in stockinette in the round until the body measures 10.75 (11, 11, 11.5, 11.5, 11.75) in / 27 (28, 28, 29, 29, 30) cm from the underarm cast-on. Switch to 4.0 mm needles (80 cm cable), work 1 round in stockinette then 4 in / 10 cm in 2x2 rib. Bind-off in pattern, keeping your stitches loose so the ribbing isn’t too tight. Sleeves: Place the 62 (62, 64, 64, 67, 67) sleeve stitches back on the 5.0 mm circular needles (40 cm cable), k one round and pick up and knit 3 (6, 7, 12, 16, 24) stitches on the underarm cast-on, placing the BOR marker in the middle of the cast-on stitches. You should have 65 (68, 71, 76, 83, 91) stitches on the needles. Knit 5 rounds in stockinette; in the last round, knit until you have 3 stitches before the BOR, ssk and k1; slip the marker, k1 and k2tog (2 stitches decreased). Continue working in stockinette, decreasing every 5th round. Repeat this process 12 (12, 12, 12, 12, 12) times in total. You should end with 41 (44, 47, 52, 59, 67) stitches. After the last round of decreases, knit as many rounds as necessary to reach 11 (11.5, 11.5, 11.75, 11.75, 12.25) in / 28 (29, 29, 30, 30, 31) cm, switch to 5.0 mm needles with an 80 cm cable (from now on, you’ll be using the magic loop technique) and follow the colorwork chart for the cuffs without making any more decreases. When you finish the chart, switch to 4.0 mm needles (80 cm cable), knit 1 round in stockinette then 3.25 in / 8 cm in 2x2 rib. Bind-off in pattern, keeping your stitches loose so the ribbing isn’t too tight. The sleeve should measure approximately 17 (17.25, 17.25, 17.75, 17.75, 18) in / 43 (44, 44, 45, 45, 46) cm from the underarm. Make the second sleeve following the same instructions. Finishing: weave in all ends and block your sweater to even out the stitches.s. Designer: Carlos Adriano C. • Cowl & Beret Set

12/10/2025 Level of difficulty Size:  One size Materials:   1 skein each of Bossa Nova yarn in colors Natural (20), Angel (1708) and Cappuccino (9601); I/5.5 mm crochet hook; Scissors; Yarn needle. Pattern Notes The cowl is worked in rows horizontally, then joined at the ends to form a ring. It is not necessary to block the cowl once it is completed. The beret is 10” in diameter at its widest part before you start to decrease rows. The beret will fit an average size adult head. I recommend blocking it to shape once completed to give it a more refined look. Colors are labeled A, B, and C in the pattern: A: Natural B: Angel C: Cappuccino Special Stitches Spike stitch explained: A spike stitch is made by inserting your hook into a stitch several rows below the current one, pulling up a tall loop to the height of the current row, and then completing the stitch as normal. It creates a long, vertical line of yarn that adds texture and definition to a project Cowl Instructions With color A, ch 102 Row 1: 1 hdc in the 2nd ch from the hook and in each ch across. Switch to color B at the end of your row. Ch 2, turn. Row 2: 1 hdc in the first st, *1 hdc spike st working under the next st of the previous row, make a hdc in the next st (make sure it is the next st and not the same st as the spike st),* repeat from * across. Switch back to color A. Ch 2, turn. Row 3: 1 hdc in the first st, 1 hdc in the next st, *1 hdc spike st under the next st of the previous row, 1 hdc in the next st,* repeat from * across until you have one st remaining, place 1 hdc in the last st. Switch to color C. Ch 2, turn. Repeat Rows 2 and 3, alternating colors B and C in between color A. So Color A will be every other row. You will end with a total of 23 Rows, but you can make this as big as you want by just continuing the repeat. • Cinnamon Sweater

12/06/2025 Level of difficulty Sizes:  S (M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL) Materials:  4.0 mm circular knitting needles with 60 and 80 cm cables; 5.0 mm circular knitting needles with 40, 60 and 80 cm cables; 11 stitch markers (10 of them in the same color for the short rows and 1 in a different color for the beginning of the round- BOR); Merino Bossa Nova yarn in the colors: •      7529 ( Terracota ) – 4 (4, 5, 6, 6, 6) hanks . •      7655 ( Clove ) – 1 (1, 2, 2, 2, 2)  hank ; •      20 ( Natural ) – 2 (2, 3, 3, 3, 3) hanks ; •      9020 ( Mustard ) – 1 (1, 2, 2, 2, 2) hank ; *Note:  if you prefer to knit the sleeves using the Magic loop method, you may switch the 40 cm cables for 80 or 100 cm ones. Gauge: 16 stitches / 21 rounds = 4 inches / 10 cm square in pattern stitch using US 8 / 5 mm needles Stitches and techniques: •      1x1 rib : 1 st round : {k1, p1} , repeat instructions between { } to end of round ; 2nd round forward :   work in pattern ; •      Stockinette stitch :   k all stitches in the round ; •      Colorwork pattern :   follow the chart . Instructions The piece is knit top down, starting at the collar. The round yoke is knit using a stranded colorwork technique, with evenly distributed increases throughout the work. The body and sleeves are knit in stockinette stitch, while the collar, ribbing and cuffs are made in 1x1 rib. Collar and yoke:  provisional cast-on 96 (96, 105, 111, 111, 114) stitches using 4.0 mm needles with a 60 cm cable and some yarn in a different color. Using color 20 (Natural) , join the round, place the BOR marker (middle of back) and work 4 in / 10 cm in 1x1 rib. In the next round, fold the collar rows in half and k all live stitches together with the cast-on stitches. When you’re done, switch to 5.0 mm needles with a 60 cm cable and k one round in stockinette. Now you’re going to make 2 short rows on each side of the neckline. To do so, place a marker 25 (25, 28, 30, 30, 31) sts to the left of the BOR marker and another one 6 sts after the first one. On the right side, also put a marker 25 (25, 28, 30, 30, 31) sts before the BOR and another one 6 sts before the first. Slip the BOR marker, k 24 (24, 27, 29, 29, 30), W&T on the 25th (25th, 28th, 30th, 30th, 31st) stitch, remove the marker and turn your work to the wrong side. P to BOR, p 24 (24, 27, 29, 29, 30), W&T on the 25th (25th, 28th, 30th, 30th, 31st) stitch, remove the stitch marker and turn the work to the right side. K to the first W&T stitch, resolve the wrapped stitch. K 5, W&T on the 6th stitch, remove the marker and turn the work to the wrong side once again. P to the W&T stitch on the other side of the BOR and resolve the wrapped stitch. P 5, W&T on the 6th stitch and turn the work to the right side. You’re done with the short rows and the next round will be a complete one. K all stitches, resolving all wrapped stitches by knitting the wrap together with the stitch. From now on, go back to knitting in the round. Follow the colorwork chart, making 16 (16, 17, 18, 18, 19) stitch repeats and increasing as indicated. Switch to an 80 cm cable when necessary, after you’ve made enough increases. You should finish the chart motif with 256 (256, 275, 291, 291, 304) stitches on the needles. Now you’re going to make 10 more short rows, 5 on each side. To do so, place 5 stitch markers on each side, the first one 62 (62, 70, 76, 76, 82) stitches after the BOR marker and the following 4 markers 10 stitches apart each. After all 10 markers have been placed, slip the BOR marker and k 62 (62, 70, 76, 76, 82) stitches, making a W&T on the last one. Knit 4 (4, 6, 6, 8, 9) more rounds in stockinette before separating the sleeve stitches. *Note:  the method used for the short rows was the Wrap and Turn method. However, feel free to use your preferred method when making the short rows. Body:  now you’re going to separate the sleeve stitches from the body. Starting from the BOR marker, k 36 (36, 39, 41, 41, 43) (first half of the back). Place the next 56 (56, 60, 64, 64, 66) stitches (right sleeve) on a spare needle or a piece of scrap yarn and leave it on hold. Cast-on 0 (8, 10, 14, 22, 26) stitches for the underarm. Next, k 72 (72, 78, 82, 82, 86) stitches (front of the body), place the next 56 (56, 60, 64, 64, 66) stitches on hold (left sleeve), cast-on 0 (8, 10, 14, 22, 26) sts for the underarm and k the remaining 36 (36, 39, 41, 41, 43) stitches (second half of the back). You should have 144 (160, 176, 192, 208, 224) stitches left on the needles. Knit in stockinette in the round until the body measures 9 (9.5, 9.5, 9.75, 9.75, 10.25) in / 23 (24, 24, 25, 25, 26) cm from the underarm cast-on. Follow the colorwork chart for the body hem + cuffs, then switch to 4.0 mm needles (80 cm cable), work 1 round in stockinette then 3.25 in / 8 cm in 1x1 rib. Bind-off in pattern, keeping your stitches loose so the ribbing isn’t too tight. Sleeves:  place the 56 (56, 60, 64, 64, 66) sleeve stitches back on the 5.0 mm circular needles (40 cm cable), k one round and pick up and knit 0 (8, 10, 14, 22, 26) stitches  on the underarm cast-on, placing the BOR marker in the middle of the cast-on stitches. You should have 56 (64, 70, 78, 86, 92) stitches on the needles. Knit 5 rounds in stockinette; in the last round, knit until you have 3 stitches before the BOR, ssk and k1; slip the marker, k1 and k2tog (2 stitches decreased). Continue working in stockinette, making 2 decreases every 6 (6, 6, 5, 5, 5) round. Repeat this process 8 (10, 11, 13, 13, 13) times in total. You should end with 40 (44, 48, 52, 60, 66) stitches on the needles. After the last round of decreases, knit as many rounds as necessary to reach 31 (32, 32, 33, 33, 34) cm, switch to 5.0 mm needles with an 80 cm cable (from now on, you’ll be using the magic loop technique) and follow the colorwork chart for the body hem + cuffs without making any more decreases. When you finish the chart, switch to 4.0 mm needles (80 cm cable), knit 1 round in stockinette then 3.25 in / 8 cm in 1x1 rib. Finishing:  weave in all ends and block your sweater to even out the stitches. Designer: Carlos Adriano C. Xavier.   Disclaimer: measurements are approximate due to differences between centimeters and inches, needle sizes and tension. All care has been taken to allow accurate completion of the pattern.
